A Tap Dancer performs choreographed routines during live and recorded entertainment productions. You may sometimes be required to come up with your own routines and will be required to spend a lot of time rehearsing for your performance. Tap Dancers usually perform as part of a larger dance ensemble but might also do solo routines.
Tap Dancers work irregular hours and need to attend multiple auditions in order to secure performance roles. You’ll need to keep yourself fit and healthy and be available to rehearse and perform when required. Tap Dancers need to be very talented in their genre and be able to work as part of a performance team. It’s important that you are dedicated to your roles and work on your performance during your own time.
