Architect careers

Architects design the buildings and structures that we use in our everyday lives including houses, apartments and condominiums, hotels, high-rise office complexes, schools, shopping centres, hospitals, factories, museums, galleries, and official government buildings. They specialise in either domestic, commercial, or industrial structures.

As an architect you could be having an initial meeting with a client to develop concept sketches, carrying out a feasibility study on a proposed construction site, reviewing an update to the National Construction Code (NCC), selecting construction materials and methods for an upcoming project, inspecting construction works and meeting with the chief engineer onsite, writing up specifications and project documents for the construction team.
