Advanced Personal Trainer careers

Advanced personal trainers hold private workout sessions with clients to help them achieve their personal fitness goals. These sessions can include everything from working through a routine in the gym or fitness centre to meeting them in a park or other outdoor area for a guided exercise program. You'll create PT training plans based on clients' goals, best interests and ability. These plans will differ if you're a personal trainer for kids, personal trainer for seniors or have another area of expertise.

As an advanced personal trainer, you'll develop appropriate workout programs, have the ability to deliver them safely, answer clients' health and safety questions and also be comfortable with interacting with people on a regular basis. You'll also often hold leadership positions in which you mentor other fitness instructors. Many advanced personal trainers work on flexible schedules and in different locations, providing a level of freedom to run sessions as they see fit.
