A Chief Warden leads a workplace’s response to emergency situations such as fires. You’ll arrange emergency preparations such as evacuations, staff training and emergency drills. Chief Wardens take a leading role during an emergency response and liaise with other wardens and emergency services personnel. You might evaluate your workplace’s response after an incident and make appropriate recommendations.
Chief Wardens should have strong leadership skills and be able to communicate clearly with a range of people. You’ll need to be able to remain calm during stressful situations and follow correct procedures during an emergency. Chief Wardens should be safety focused and have excellent situational awareness skills.
