Court Officer careers
Court Officers are responsible for ensuring court proceedings run smoothly. Your role will be varied but will involve a range of tasks such as opening and closing court proceedings, calling on witnesses and making sure court conduct is orderly. Court Officers liaise with judges, magistrates, police officers and legal professionals. You’ll need to maintain court files, execute court orders and keep records of exhibits.
A Court Officer role comes with a lot of responsibility so you’ll need to be highly organised. You’ll need to be able to work with a wide range of people and have an excellent knowledge of legal proceedings. Court Officers need to be able to follow set procedures and attend to several tasks at once. Time management is crucial and you’ll need to have strong communication skills.
