Nursery Worker careers
A Nursery Worker is primarily responsible for the care and maintenance of plants in nurseries, garden centres, and horticultural settings. Their duties typically include planting seeds and seedlings, watering and fertilising plants, monitoring plant health for diseases or pests, and preparing plants for sale or transplantation.
Nursery Workers may also assist customers by providing advice on plant care and garden maintenance. This role requires practical knowledge of plant species, attention to detail, and physical stamina due to the manual nature of the work. They often work outdoors and may use various gardening tools and machinery. Strong teamwork and communication skills are important as they usually work under the supervision of a nursery manager or horticulturist.
