A Prosthetic Technician constructs and repairs dental prosthetic pieces such as dentures or mouthguards. You might work for a dental or oral health service or you might be employed by a prosthetics company. Prosthetic Technicians build pieces based on moulds or impressions of clients’ teeth and mouths. You might use computer aided design or manual techniques to build prosthetic pieces.
Prosthetic Technicians should have excellent attention to detail and be able to construct highly individualised pieces. You’ll need to be skilled in a range of construction techniques and be able to tailor your work to meet the needs of your clients. Prosthetic Technicians should be organised and have strong time management skills.
