Cyber Security Technician careers
Cyber Security Technicians are hands-on ICT professionals who protect an organisation’s digital assets, cloud-based systems, intellectual property, and online infrastructure from cyber criminals. They install and configure cybersecurity technologies, develop scripts and codes to streamline online security, and support the ICT department in carrying out risk assessments and developing operational procedures.
As a Cyber Security Technician you could be assisting the Cyber Security Manager investigate a security breach, maintaining the server’s security systems and firewall, monitoring and responding to phishing emails and security alerts, implementing cybersecurity policies and operational procedures, working with the disaster planning project team to develop data recovery strategies, or doing some private research about emerging cyber-threats and the latest online security technologies.
