You’ll analyse data to find out which keywords customers are searching with and use them to improve a website’s search engine ranking. SEM Specialists also use other strategies such as paid advertising to increase online traffic. You might work for a business or organisation in their marketing or IT team or you may be employed as an outside consultant.

SEM Specialists need to be able to understand a business’s needs and create appropriate SEM strategies. You’ll need to be able to understand and analyse data and be good at using technology. An SEM Specialist should be able to work as part of a team and liaise with various people within an organisation.
