Bar Attendant careers

A Bar Attendant makes drinks and serves customers in a bar, hotel or other licensed venue. You might pour beers, mix cocktails or prepare other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. A Bar Attendant, or Barman, takes drink orders and processes payments. You might also perform other duties such as cleaning bar equipment or collecting and washing glasses.

Bar Attendants should have good customer service skills and be able to communicate with a range of bar patrons. You should be able to work quickly during busy periods and may have to manage several tasks at one time. Bar Attendants must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team. You’ll often have to work irregular hours such as nights, weekends and holidays.
